Riyadh Air of Saudi Arabia introduces a striking livery

Saudi Arabia’s newest airline Riyadh Air has unveiled its bold livery on its social media channels.

Photos of the first of its two liveries show a single Boeing 787 parked in a hangar, painted in hues of blue, purple and indigo, with the logo emblazoned on the tail and the engines, and the airline’s name splashed large across the entire height of the fuselage.

“We are delighted to unveil the first of two #RiyadhAir livery designs, a perfect blend of cutting-edge technology and timeless elegance. The #FutureTakesFlight,” the airline said in a caption.

The Public Investment Fund-owned airline revealed in March that it has placed a multi-billion dollar order for up to 72 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, with an option to purchase an additional 33 wide-body Dreamliners.

The airline, which is scheduled to begin operations in 2025 from its primary hub in Riyadh, seeks to connect millions of passengers to more than 100 locations worldwide by 2030.

Code RX

Earlier, the airline acquired the code RX from the International Air Transport Association, it announced that the aviation body’s annual general meeting.

“We are delighted to announce that we have obtained RX as our IATA code, which will be on every touchpoint that our guests see as they take flight with us. The code reflects our ambition to be a digitally led airline, having the connection of innovation and state-of-the-art technology. Riyadh Air has made another strategic milestone towards its operations in 2025, and we are so excited for our guests to be able to travel to over 100 destinations with our code on their bag tags, booking documents and digital services,” Douglas said at the AGM in Istanbul
