According to the Economic Survey, air travel has recovered after the coronavirus pandemic-related restraints were lifted.

While air traffic decreased significantly in FY21 (by 54 percent) and passenger traffic handled decreased significantly (by 66 percent), a recovery was seen in the previous fiscal year.

“Passenger and freight movement are now near to pre-Covid-19 levels in the current financial year, further demonstrating a resurgence. According to the poll, the overall number of passengers carried in December 2022 was 15.01 million, which was 106.4 percent higher than the pre-Covid level.

According to the survey, the overall air freight tonnage in November 2022 was 250,000 MT, which is 89 percent below pre-Covid levels.
